Favorite Art Books: Point Zero: Creativity Without Limits

A fellow artist asked me if I could recommend any books, and I thought this would be a great addition to the Young @ Art Section of my blog.

Not being able to afford formal art training when I started, I turned to books. This one I picked up because the cover caught my attention. In that period where I was still very timid about my creative process,

Michele Cassou’s “Point Zero”, intuitive painting approach to overcoming blocks and fear changed my art life. It is a technique I still use when I’m stuck inside my head, or find myself overthinking specific works. For me, the biggest lesson from her book was the realization that -the very fear of not knowing where we’re going with our creations- can actually become the most exciting part of our art-making process, if we let go and use our intuition.
